Some Movie Thoughts

Here is an update on the movie world through Jonny-Ri's eyes:

Recent Movies Seen in Theaters:

SPIDER-MAN 3 - Read Adam's blog, he has the same opinion as me.

FRACTURE - wonderfully written and acted movie that achieved exactly what it needed in order to be a succesfully pulled off courtroom mind-stumper. I would recommend it to anyone, especially Hopkins and Goslings fans, whom both were impeccable at creating their characters.

SHREK 3 - I laughed, I marveled at animation, I loved the characters once again. Too bad the movie was a display of Dreamworks writers pushing a story to a trilogy when they honestly could have stayed at a sequel. There was nothing new to the movie. If not for the fact that that meant it showed the characters and humor we loved from the first two movies it would have been a total bust. Go see it but don't be prepared for the same reaction as the prequels.

Recent Movie Rentals:
PAN'S LABRYNTH - Totally earned its academy awards and might have been worth a few more. Really moves along with the style of the other foreign films that we have fallen in love with, such as Amelie, making me wish we had more films with the color, emotion and imagination like that here in the states. It was vivid, it was unique, it was graphic, it was violent, it was lovely and you need to see it if you haven't.

Movie Yet to Come:
ACROSS THE UNIVERSE - Beatles Music + Puppeteering + Hippy Revolution + Eddie Izzard + Bono cameo = Bitchin Movie coming up.
TRANSFORMERS - Bad News=Robots do not seem like they are going to talk. Good News=That oh-so well remembered transforming noise effect will be in the movie.
THE INCREDIBLE HULK - Tim Roth, Liv Tyler & Edward Norton. This one might not suck. Let's hope for it.
THE DARK NIGHT - So Maggie Gyllenhaal will be taking over for Katie Holmes (Thank God in my opinion) and the rest of the cast is returning including Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent & Hetah Ledger as The Joker (check out the leaked image of Chris Nolan's take on the villain). Gonna be another good one as it looks.

That's it. Lemme know if you got some fun news about some upcoming flicks!

Him

Did you know...

Although it is not common knowledge, there are actually three sides to the Force: the light side, the dark side, and Chuck Norris.

If you want a list of Chuck Norris’ enemies, just check the extinct species list.

Chuck Norris does not use spell check. If he happens to misspell a word, Oxford will simply change the actual spelling of it.

Chuck Norris got a perfect score on his SAT's, simply by writing Chuck Norris for every answer.

And the best:

A blind man once stepped on Chuck Norris' shoe. Chuck replied, "Don't you know who I am? I'm Chuck Norris!" The mere mention of his name cured this man blindness. Sadly the first, last, and only thing this man ever saw, was a fatal roundhouse kick to the head.

New Trailer

The full trailer for the FF4 movie is out now. Looks like it might not totally suck like the first one. It seems marvel just needs one practice movie before they get a new title's movie series to match the coolness of the original comic series.
