drove to moss landing
had lunch at fish place, had some kickass fried seafood (my fave)

watched the otters play right outside the restaurant (first time ever seen one in wild)
went to traders with fam (coolest grocery store in the world)
then went home and chilled for a while
went out to Chevy's for my birthday
had me some rockin flautas (another fave of mine)
got a tour of downtown salinas
went to baskin robbins for more birthday eating
got me a reeses sundae, took a sugar high, crashed 10 minutes later
went to bed
woke up, got ready, got the wifie some starbucks went to SVCC (fam's new church)

listened to daddy-ri preach on beauty

got tour of SVCC buildings

scoped out padre's new office (looks like a set from history channel documentary)

said peace out to SVCC
got some lunch from hole-in-the-wall mexican food place (always the best)
played some disney trivia board game with the fam (i lost)
packed up, said peace out to fam (hugs and kisses for all)

got in car, drove another friggin 5 hours, got home to riverside

Derren Brown
Ian reminded of this persuasionist I discovered a few months back and one my favorite videos of one of his "experiments" with the power of persuasion. Video is long but wicked sweet...and a little freaky:
Next Stop: Tour De Friggin France
So, Kathy had to work today at her school where she subs out in Val Verde, which starts at 7:15am. I don't have work till 9:00am. We have only one car. Solution?

Rode the ol' two-wheeler to work, suckas! That's right, I loaded up the backpack, strapped in the ipod and rode 6 miles from my house by the plaza to my work which is close to University Village. And the crazy thing is I made it with 5 minutes to spare.
I'll admit, my legs are a little shaky, I am quite sweaty (and i'm assuming pretty stinky) and it's gonna take a moment for the stars i'm seeing to go away but I feel good, I saved the environment a car ride to work and I got some much needed cardio exercise seeing as how my week consists of sitting in front of a giant computer screen 8-9 hours a day.

Pirates Before & After
Thought this was an interesting pic:

For those of you not savvy to the ways of digital effects, they are wearing motion sensor suits that capture their movements to be used later by the animator. It records a skeletal structure version of everything they do and the animators use that with the computer generated versions of their characters to match their acting.
